By accessing our Website, booking classes, purchasing courses, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our Website or services.

2. Definitions

“We”, “us”, “our” means Chair Yoga Ireland Ltd (CRO: 775842)
“You”, “your” means the person accessing our Website or purchasing our services
“Services” means yoga classes, courses, workshops, corporate programmes, and retreats

3. Services We Provide

3.1 Types of Services

We offer the following services:

Live Online Classes:

  • Individual chair yoga sessions conducted via Zoom
  • Scheduled group classes at regular times
  • Private one-to-one sessions

In-Person Classes:

  • Small group classes
  • Classes for seniors
  • Classes for people with different abilities
  • Community centre sessions

Online Courses:

  • Multi-week structured programmes (e.g., 4-week courses)
  • Live online instruction via Zoom
  • Digital materials and resources (where provided)

Corporate Wellness Programmes:

  • Workplace yoga sessions
  • Employee wellness workshops
  • Bespoke corporate packages

Retreats:

  • Day retreats and wellness experiences
  • Waves of Wellness luxury retreats

3.2 Class Format & Requirements

For Online Classes:

  • A stable internet connection is required
  • Zoom video conferencing software (free version sufficient)
  • A sturdy chair without arms
  • Comfortable clothing allowing freedom of movement
  • Adequate space to move safely

For In-Person Classes:

  • Arrive on time for class
  • Bring your own water bottle
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Chairs provided unless otherwise specified

4. Booking & Payment

4.1 How to Book

Classes and courses can be booked through:

  • Our online booking system at book.chairyogaireland.ie
  • Direct contact via email or phone
  • Through partner organisations (for corporate bookings)

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit/Debit cards via Stripe
  • PayPal
  • Bank transfer (for corporate invoicing)

All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and include Irish VAT where applicable.

4.3 Payment Processing

  • Payment is taken at the time of booking
  • You will receive confirmation via email once payment is successful
  • For corporate bookings, invoicing terms may be arranged separately

4.4 Pricing

  • Prices are as displayed on the Website at the time of booking
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed
  • Promotional codes and discounts may be offered periodically and are subject to specific terms

5. Cancellations & Refunds

5.1 Your EU Consumer Rights

Under EU Consumer Rights legislation, you have the right to cancel your booking within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

HOWEVER: This right is waived once you attend or access your first class or course session, as you will have begun consuming the service or digital content.

At checkout, you agree to:

  • Begin your course/class before the 14-day cooling-off period expires
  • Waive your 14-day cancellation right once you attend/access the first session

5.2 Cancellation by You (Individual Bookings)

Full Refund Available:

  • Cancel within 24 hours of purchase AND before first class/session
  • Purchase made in error or duplicate booking
  • We cancel or reschedule your class and you cannot attend the new time
  • Medical reasons with written documentation from your GP (for unused classes only)

Partial Refund (Pro-Rata):

  • You’ve attended some classes but cannot continue due to documented medical reasons
  • Refund calculated based on number of unused classes
  • Example: 4-week course, attended 1 class = 75% refund

No Refund:

  • Cancellation less than 24 hours before scheduled class
  • You’ve attended the first class and changed your mind (non-medical)
  • Non-attendance without notice (“no-show”)
  • After accessing online course materials

5.3 Cancellation by Us

If we need to cancel or reschedule a class:

  • We will provide maximum advance notice possible
  • You will receive either:
    • Full refund to original payment method, OR
    • Free transfer to another available class time

5.4 Rescheduling

If You Need to Reschedule:

  • One complimentary reschedule per booking (subject to availability)
  • Must request at least 24 hours before scheduled class
  • Additional reschedules at our discretion
  • Rescheduling not available for courses already in progress

If We Need to Reschedule:

  • We will accommodate you in the next available session
  • Or provide a full refund if preferred

5.5 Corporate Bookings

Cancellation and rescheduling terms for corporate bookings are negotiable and will be agreed upon in advance:

  • Typically require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations
  • Flexible rescheduling based on contract terms
  • Contact us to discuss specific corporate requirements

5.6 Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days of approval
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used
  • Bank processing times may vary (typically 3-5 additional business days)

6. Online Course Access

6.1 Access Period

  • Online courses grant access for the duration specified at purchase (e.g., 4 weeks from start date)
  • Access may be extended at our discretion for medical or technical reasons
  • Access may be revoked for violation of these Terms

6.2 Course Materials

  • All course materials are for your personal use only
  • Materials may not be shared, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially
  • You may download materials for personal reference where explicitly permitted

6.3 No Refunds After Access

Once you attend your first live session or access online course content, you waive your right to a refund unless:

  • Cancellation qualifies under Section 5.2 (medical reasons with documentation)
  • We fail to provide the service as described

7. Health & Medical Disclaimer

7.1 Your Health Responsibilities

By participating in our classes, you confirm that:

  • You are physically capable of participating in yoga activities
  • You have consulted your GP if you have any health concerns, medical conditions, injuries, or are pregnant
  • You will immediately inform your instructor of any physical limitations, injuries, or medical conditions
  • You understand that yoga involves physical movement and carries some inherent risk
  • You will stop immediately if you experience pain, discomfort, or feel unwell

7.2 Not Medical Advice

  • Chair yoga is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice
  • Our instructors are qualified yoga teachers, not medical professionals
  • Any health benefits discussed are general information, not medical advice specific to you
  • Always consult your GP before starting any new exercise programme

7.3 Contraindications

You should not participate in chair yoga without medical clearance if you:

  • Are pregnant (without GP approval)
  • Have had recent surgery or injury
  • Have uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Have severe osteoporosis
  • Have any condition that could be aggravated by physical movement

When in doubt, consult your GP before participating.

7.4 During Class

  • Listen to your body and work within your own limits
  • Inform the instructor immediately if you feel pain or discomfort
  • Follow instructor guidance and safety recommendations
  • Use modifications offered to suit your ability level
  • Never push yourself beyond your comfort zone

7.5 Online Classes – Additional Safety

For online Zoom classes, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring your practice space is safe and free from hazards
  • Using a sturdy, stable chair appropriate for the movements
  • Having adequate space around you
  • Practising on a non-slip surface
  • Ensuring good lighting and visibility

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 What We Do Not Exclude

We do not exclude or limit our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law

8.2 What We Are Not Liable For

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we are not liable for:

  • Injuries resulting from failure to follow instructor guidance or safety recommendations
  • Injuries resulting from failure to disclose medical conditions, injuries, or limitations
  • Aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions
  • Injuries sustained in your own practice space (for online classes)
  • Technical issues affecting your ability to access online classes (internet connectivity, Zoom issues, etc.)
  • Indirect, consequential, or economic losses
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities

8.3 Maximum Liability

Our maximum total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific class, course, or service in question.

8.4 Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Your own safety during participation
  • Disclosing relevant medical information
  • Following instructor guidance
  • Practising within your own limits
  • Ensuring your practice environment is safe (for online classes)

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 Our Content

All content on our Website and in our classes is owned by Chair Yoga Ireland Ltd or our licensors and is protected by Irish and international copyright laws, including:

  • Video recordings and demonstrations
  • Course materials, handouts, worksheets

10.1 Zoom Class Requirements

For online classes via Zoom:

  • Keep your microphone muted unless speaking
  • Video camera on or off (your choice)
  • Use a respectful screen name
  • Be punctual – classes start on time
  • Technical issues should be resolved before class where possible

10.2 Expected Conduct

You agree to:

  • Treat instructors and other participants with respect
  • Not disrupt the class or distract other participants
  • Not share inappropriate content or language
  • Follow instructor directions
  • Maintain appropriate attire during classes

10.3 Removal from Class

We reserve the right to remove you from a class or course without refund if you:

  • Behave inappropriately or disrespectfully
  • Harass instructors or other participants
  • Violate these Terms
  • Record or screenshot without permission
